Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps in UAE Q4 2022

The fourth quarter of 2022 saw notable trends in the performance of the top 5 navigation and maps applications in the United Arab Emirates. Data from Sensor Tower provides insights into weekly downloads, revenue, and active users for these apps on a unified platform.

Google Maps Go experienced fluctuating weekly downloads, starting at around 12.6K in late September and peaking at approximately 14.8K in mid-December. Weekly active users showed a slight decline from about 1.25M to 1.22M over the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, reaching a high of around 10.5K in the last week of December. Weekly active users, however, showed a more varied trend, starting at approximately 305K and ending at around 286K.

2GIS: Offline map & navigation had its highest weekly downloads at about 11.9K in mid-November, with a gradual decline to around 7K by the end of December. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 60K and 68K throughout the quarter.

Google Earth showed a peak in weekly downloads at around 7.2K in mid-October, followed by a decline to approximately 4K by the end of December. Weekly active users showed minor fluctuations, peaking at around 30K in mid-October and settling at about 21.6K by the end of the quarter.

GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation had consistent weekly revenue, averaging around $15. Weekly downloads varied, peaking at about 3K in early October and ending with approximately 2.2K in late December. Active users saw a downward trend from around 9.6K to 7.9K over the quarter.
